Eddie Bauer play yard with rocking bassinet recalled

Dorel Juvenile Group announced the recall of 71,000 Eddie Bauer South and Sway Play Yards with rocking bassinets. The bassinets, in either the rocking or locked mode can tilt, tipping the baby into one side, posing a suffocation risk. There have been 10 reports of babies rolling to one side, including a report of a baby found purple and out of breath.

Consumers should stop using this product and follow the instructions at the recall website for a $40 voucher for a new Dorel product.

KID is concerned that parents who bought this product for the bassinet feature are left without a real remedy since $40 won't replace the product. But the risk to the baby is too great to continue using the bassinet, so we urge parents to use their crib or another bassinet.
